A global consortium of metal casting companies, resin and coating suppliers, additive and sand suppliers, and researchers, aims to spread the word for CPR - casting porosity reduction.

  
   


Gas from Green Sand Molds and Organically Bonded Cores

Research was conducted on gas evolution from several green sand and dry sand molding systems. The purpose was to develop methods for predicting gas pressure in local areas of molds and cores and to understand and be able to eliminate blow-holes and pinholes.
